Andy has been fronting bands since he was 15 years old.
After performing in a number of covers bands playing pubs & clubs (while still underage) he moved on to writing & performing original material in a number of Essex/East London rock bands.
He was invited to join Essex Progressive rockers Chemical Alice playing local gigs & free festivals including Stonehenge while spending his weekends away from the band in local Essex nightclubs Zero Six & The Gold Mine learning to love disco & soul.
After he left the band he formed Tamarisk with keyboard player Steve Leigh who had replaced Mark Kelly in Chemical Alice when he left to join Marrilion.
The band was part of The New Wave of British Progressive Rock playing around the UK including some great nights at London’s famous Marquee club. A video is available at the top of this page.
But just as it looked as if the band was to break he left the business & moved away from London to Newcastle for personal reasons.
On his return a few years later he started to work with a few local covers bands when he met Lou when he joined The Trial Of The Chicago Eight touring the UK & Europe playing 60’s soul classics.
ForFunkSake is his main concern now but he does occasionally perform with the Ian Dury & The Blockheads tribute band What a Waste
