Thorough music training across a range of musical styles, Graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, in 1995 as a first study performer.

Whilst in Manchester, gained a vast array of performance experience in both Classical and Jazz settings, being engaged in professional show work and performing with a range of well known and highly regarded Jazz musicians including; Andy Sheppard, Guy Barker, Lew Tabakin and Mike Gibbs.


He Returned to London in 1996 and completed a post graduate certificate in Jazz and Popular music at Goldsmiths College, University of London continuing to perform in a range of Jazz settings including work with Andy Sheppard’s side-man Claude Deppa. Moved into working as part of a horn section in pop/funk music settings and joined ForFunkSake in the same year.


Completed a Master’s Degree in music in 2003, at Middlesex University, London, specializing in rhythmic aspects of music, particularly the use of ‘Grooves’ and its psychological impact on the listener.

Undertook some teaching at the University, lecturing at undergraduate level on the compositional techniques of Charles Mingus.


Currently working regularly with ForFunkSake, composing and recording original Jazz material and engaged in ad-hoc session work.
